DayDent

Terms of Service & Liability Disclaimer

Please read these terms carefully. By creating a DayDent account you agree to them.

1. What DayDent is

DayDent is a connection platform. We help dental clinics in Metro Vancouver find temporary dental professionals — hygienists, certified dental assistants and receptionists — quickly, especially for last-minute cancellations.

DayDent is not an employer, staffing agency, placement agency, insurer, or licensing body. We do not employ, verify, insure, screen, vet, supervise, or guarantee any clinic or professional using the platform.

2. Credentials are self-declared

Registration numbers, expiry dates, certifications, experience, software skills and all other profile information are entered by users themselves. DayDent performs no checks and provides no approval process.

Clinics are solely responsible for confirming a professional's registration standing, identity, right to work, insurance, and suitability before any engagement — including checking the BCCOHP or CDA public registries directly.

3. Employment arrangements are between users

Pay rates, hours, scope of duties, taxes, WorkSafeBC coverage, liability insurance, payment and any dispute arising from a shift are entirely between the clinic and the professional. DayDent is not a party to those arrangements and takes no role in negotiating or enforcing them.

The only exception is the platform rules described in sections 5, 6 and 11. Those rules govern conduct on DayDent and your account standing. They are not an employment relationship, and enforcing them does not make DayDent a party to your arrangement or responsible for its outcome.

4. Fees

Posting a shift, applying to a shift, viewing profiles, receiving applications or invitations, and viewing contact information are free. Professionals never pay DayDent.

A “Confirmed Booking” is created when a professional accepts a specific shift and the clinic then confirms that professional and pays the applicable connection fee through the DayDent platform. A professional’s acceptance alone does not create a Confirmed Booking and does not result in a charge.

Clinics pay a connection fee only when a Confirmed Booking is created. The connection fee is $45 CAD for the first Confirmed Booking between a clinic and a professional. The fee is $20 CAD for a later Confirmed Booking between the same clinic and professional where the clinic has previously paid the initial connection fee. DayDent determines which fee applies based on the clinic and professional pair.

Each connection fee applies to one specific Confirmed Booking. A later shift with the same professional is charged separately at the applicable rebooking rate.

Posting a shift, applying, a professional accepting a shift, and viewing profiles do not trigger a charge. If no Confirmed Booking is created, no connection fee is charged. If a payment fails, the booking is not confirmed and contact information is not released; the clinic may retry payment.

By confirming a booking, the clinic authorizes DayDent to charge the applicable connection fee using the payment method provided. Payment is processed by Stripe.

Connection fees are separate from the professional’s wages and any other amounts agreed between the clinic and professional.

Fee amounts may change. A change applies only to Confirmed Bookings created after the updated fee is published.

5. Cancellations and no-shows

Either party may cancel a Confirmed Booking 24 hours or more before its scheduled start time without receiving a reliability flag.

If a clinic cancels 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time, DayDent refunds the connection fee actually paid for that booking in full, including any tax collected on that fee, to the original payment method. Cancelling exactly 24 hours before the scheduled start time qualifies for a full refund. If a clinic cancels less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, the connection fee is not refunded. This timing rule applies whenever the clinic cancels, including while replacement matching is underway.

If a professional cancels, DayDent reopens the shift and looks for a replacement. A replacement must accept and the clinic must confirm that replacement; the connection fee already paid applies to the replacement booking for the same shift, and no additional connection or rebooking fee is charged. If no replacement booking is confirmed by the original scheduled start time, DayDent automatically refunds the original connection fee in full.

If a shift is cancelled before payment, it is cancelled with no charge and no refund transaction. Refunds are made to the original payment method through Stripe and are not substituted with platform credit. A refund is marked completed only once Stripe confirms it succeeded. These rules concern DayDent’s connection fee only, and not wages, lost income, or other payments between users. The original scheduled start time is used for all cancellation and replacement deadlines; a cancellation or a replacement does not reset it.

Cancelling within 24 hours of the start time is permitted, but raises a late cancellation flag against the party who cancels, as described in section 6. Failing to attend a confirmed shift raises a no-show flag.

DayDent does not mediate lost income, replacement costs, or any other consequence of a cancellation or no-show. Flags affect account standing on the platform only.

A replacement is subject to professional availability. DayDent does not guarantee that a replacement will be found or that the shift will be filled.

6. Reliability flags, disputes and account standing

After a shift date has passed, either party may flag the other for a no-show or a late cancellation. A no-show counts 2 points; a late cancellation counts 1 point.

A flag stays pending for 48 hours. The flagged party is notified in-app and may dispute it once, with a written explanation. An undisputed flag is confirmed automatically after 48 hours. A disputed flag goes to DayDent for review, and no points count until the review is resolved. DayDent's decision on a disputed flag is final.

Confirmed points expire 12 months after they are confirmed. Active points affect your account automatically: at 2 points your profile shows a "Warned" badge, at 4 points your account is suspended for 30 days and cannot post or apply for shifts, and at 6 points your account is permanently removed.

DayDent administrators may also add or remove points, suspend, reinstate or remove accounts where the platform is being misused. Individual flag details are visible only to the account holder and to DayDent administrators.

7. Ratings and profile statistics

After a shift is completed, both parties may be prompted to rate each other. Ratings, completion rate, total completed shifts and reliability badge are displayed on your profile to other signed-in DayDent members, and are used to order and match listings.

Ratings are opinions submitted by other users. DayDent does not verify them and is not responsible for their content or their effect on your ability to find shifts or fill them.

8. Messaging

DayDent provides in-app messaging between connected users. Messages must relate to shifts and professional arrangements. Do not use messaging to harass, solicit unrelated business, or share patient information. DayDent administrators may read messages where necessary to review a dispute or investigate misuse.

9. Clinic and professional information visibility

A clinic's name, neighbourhood, street address, map location, practice software, parking, rating and completion rate are visible to signed-in DayDent members. A clinic's phone number and contact email remain hidden until a booking is confirmed with that professional.

Before a booking is confirmed and the connection fee is paid, a clinic sees only what a professional chooses to share for evaluation: role, experience, languages, skills, practice software, rate, general area, availability and, where the professional opts in, their resume. Full name, phone number, email address and any direct contact details in a shared resume are released only once the clinic confirms that professional and payment succeeds.

DayDent cannot assure the confidentiality of information once it has been released to the other party. You share information at your own discretion, and each party is responsible for how it handles information it receives.

10. No warranty

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of user-supplied information, or uninterrupted availability.

We do not guarantee that a posted shift will be filled, that any professional will accept, attend or perform, or that any clinic will pay.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DayDent and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the platform. This includes losses relating to unverified credentials, expired registrations, professional misconduct, patient harm, property damage, missed or cancelled shifts, unpaid wages, connection fees paid for a booking that did not proceed, flags or ratings recorded against an account, suspension or removal of an account, or the conduct of any user.

12. Acceptable use, suspension and termination

Users must provide accurate information, keep their registration details current, and must not impersonate another person or clinic. Accounts containing knowingly false credential information may be removed.

You must not attempt to work around the connection fee, scrape or bulk-collect other users' information, use another member's account, or interfere with the platform's operation.

DayDent may suspend or remove any account for breach of these terms, for accumulated reliability points as described in section 6, or where required by law. You may close your account at any time; fees already paid are not affected by closing your account.

13. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; continued use means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
